Venting
My life lately has been entirely full of stress and
emotional duress,
Breaking me with seemingly no forgiveness.
Watching for a point at which I might break,
Looking for weak spots, for a shot to take.
Waiting for that optimum moment
In which to break a weak opponent,
Watching me fall to my knees in tears,
broken by emotional fears.
Snickering in the background at a victory,
So you think you’ve beaten me?
I may be on my knees, but the only place I can look is up.
Waiting for my God to pick me up.
You try to break and you may seem to succeed,
But Satan, God has what it takes to stop your selfish greed
that breaks and takes and tears to pieces.
He dries my tears. your grip, He releases.
You try to beat me, but you’ve got nothing on my God
Who builds me up and isn’t fake with a façade
That appears to be good but is a venomous snake
Waiting on the sidelines to make your soul ache.
The tears I cry, He gently wipes away,
making me strong enough to live another day.
Guarding me with His loving arms,
Satan pushed away with his addictions that harm.

Sometimes, things just hit you hard, like being stuck in a hurricane with only an umbrella to keep you dry. It seems like all you're doing is falling, but sometimes that's the best time to realize that you can look up, to a God that heals, saves, forgives. We all have our low points, and we all try to cope using things that we know are only temporary fixes, but He is always going to be there to wrap us in His arms again, loving us with that same amazing, unfathomable, and unending love that is sometimes so hard to comprehend.
After writing this, I saw this Bible verse by chance, so it
must have been a God thing.
Psalm 17:6,7 I pray to you, O God, because you answer me; so turn to me and listen to my words. Reveal your wonderful love and save me; at your side I am safe from my enemies. (GNT)
